Get Involved! Report Malformations Now!
Are you interested in playing a role in amphibian conservation? If so, we encourage you to submit reports of malformed (and normal) amphibians you observe in your community using our "Malformation Nation" FieldScope site (hosted by the National Geographic Society). Your reports will provide important baseline data on the health of amphibian populations across North America, and can be used to help identify potential causes of the malformation phenomenon.
With the Malformation Nation FieldScope platform, citizen scientists can engage in activities including:
- Explore maps and graphs using previously collected data to ask and answer questions about the occurrence of malformations in particular geographic locations
- Conduct fieldwork and share observations and stories with other citizen scientists
- Participate in social and scientific networks to document and improve the health of amphibian populations in your local community
